How to Make The Perfect Aperol Spritz

My favorite summer time wine-based cocktail is the classic Aperol Spritz. This iconic cocktail has become synonymous with summertime in Italy, offering a refreshing burst of citrusy sweetness and herbal bitterness in every sip. But you don't have to take a flight to Italy to enjoy it, here's the perfect Aperol Spritz recipe that you can enjoy right at home.
Ingredients:
- 3 ounces Aperol
- 3 ounces Prosecco
- 1 ounce soda water
- Orange slice, for garnish
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
-
Fill a wine glass with ice: Start by filling a large wine glass with plenty of ice cubes.
-
Add Aperol: Pour 3 ounces of Aperol over the ice. Aperol is the star of the show, it gives the cocktail the signature bittersweet flavor and vibrant orange color.
-
Top with Prosecco: Next, gently pour 3 ounces of Prosecco into the glass. The effervescence of Prosecco adds fizziness to the drink, balancing out the bitterness of the Aperol. We recommend the Adami Prosecco Col Credas.
-
Splash of Soda Water: Finish off your Aperol Spritz with a splash of soda water, about 1 ounce should do. This adds a touch of refreshing bubbles and helps mellow out the sweetness of the Aperol and Prosecco combo.
-
Garnish with an orange slice: To complete your Aperol Spritz, garnish with a slice of fresh orange. Not only does it add a pop of color, but it also enhances the citrusy notes.
-
Stir gently: Give your Aperol Spritz a gentle stir to mix all the ingredients together and ensure that the flavors are well-balanced.
Tip: Feel free to adjust the proportions of Aperol, Prosecco, and soda water to suit your personal taste preferences. Some like it a bit stronger on the Aperol side, while others prefer a lighter touch. Experiment until you find your perfect balance. Enjoy!
