
Dumpling Salad Recipe for Chinese New Year

Slide into the Year of the Snake with this Dumpling Salad. Also perfect to pair with Rosé Champagne, just in time for Valentines Day! A Zesty, vibrant and quick way to have a flavor meal by combining pan-fried dumplings and fresh vegetables. You can make a colorful and healthy meal by pairing crispy dumplings with fresh vegetables. Add a tangy dressing to complete the dish. Of course you can hand make the dumplings, however to save time, we decided to use frozen ones. The fresh veggies add a nice crunch. The tangy, slightly sweet dressing makes each bite refreshing and tasty.
Ingredients:
For the Dressing:
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 2 tbs fish sauce
- 2 tbs soy sauce
- 1 Lime, juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
For the Salad:
- 1 bag frozen dumplings (20-30)
- 1 1/2 cups Red Cabbage, shredded
- 2 carrots, julienned
- 1 cup green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions:
1) In a large bowl mix together olive oil, fish sauce, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic and ginger
2) Prep your veggies and toss them into the same bowl as the dressing. In go cabbage, carrots, green onions, and sesame seeds.
3) Place a large pan over medium high heat and add in 1 tbs of olive oil. Place the frozen dumplings into the pan and allow to fry for 2 minutes.
4) Add in 2-3 tablespoons of water and cover the pan with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam cook for 4-5 minutes.
5) Remove dumplings from pan and toss in the salad bowl. Toss everything together and enjoy. To kick it up a notch, add your favorite spicy sauce.
