Made from 100% estate grown fruit, this Cabernet Sauvignon presents unrivalled value for money in the Napa Valley. Everything comes from Juliana Vineyard that is owned by Stewart Cellars of Napa Valley. This vineyard is right in the middle of their other prized Slingshort North Coast and Stewart Napa Cabernet.
Family owned and run winery whose focus is on vineyard designated wines that exemplify the terroir of their respected vineyards.
Tasting Notes
With an ultra-bright nose of ripe plum, blueberry, and a hint of leather, the 2019 Thistle & Thorn Cabernet Sauvignon is deep and dark in aroma. Flavors of blackberry, blackcurrant, and balanced toasty oak line the palate of this classic, full-bodied Napa Valley Cab. The fine-grain, textured tannins lead into the long and lingering finish. Decant and drink now or cellar through 2026.
Chateau Belle-Vue Haut-Medoc 2018 (Regular Retail $24.99) Sustainable
92 James Suckling
Direct Import
Ch. Belle-Vue is a 15-hectare estate in the Haut-Médoc appellation, just south of some top Margaux estates and next to Ch. Giscours. As of the 2018 vintage, it is classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, the top tier of that classification.
Tasting Notes
With a blend that has an unusual 18% Petit Verdot, this wine is dark in color and firm, with big black-fruit flavors. It is rich, intense and full of tannins that indicate great aging potential. This powerful wine is likely to be ready from 2025. Roger Voss
Glatzer Carnuntum Blaufrankisch 2018 Organic (Regular Retail $22.99)
Austria Wine
Walter Glatzer organically farms over 50 hectares in the ancient region of Carnuntum, Austria. Red grapes such as Blaufrankisch does exceptionally well in this climate and benefits from the cooling currents of the Danube River. Blaufrankisch is a late ripening varietal that originated from Austria in the 18th century in what was then Germany. This is a fantastic entry to learn about Austrian Reds.
Tasting Notes
"A medium-bodied red, with clove and cinnamon notes surrounding damson plum and dark cherry flavors. Aromatic and expressive, showing a friendly, charming character." Wine Spectator. Simply look to the regions where this grape flourishes to find great pairings including smoked sausage, red potato goulash, and cheesy spaetzle dumplings.
La Colline Aux Fossiles IGP Cotes Catalanes Chardonnay 2020 (Regular Retail $14.99)
Eric Solomon and Jean-Marc Lafage (Maker of the Lafage Bastide Wines) has partnered together to make Chardonnay that grows more inland from the Tet river valley on deep red clay soils. The name Colline aux Fossiles may seem fanciful, but there are actually old, weathered fossils mixed in this site’s gravelly soils.
Tasting Notes
The Colline Aux Fossiles Chardonnay is picked when the flavors are rich and ripe but when there is still plenty of natural acidity remaining in the grapes. This wine is a beautifully rich expression of site over winemaking, being fermented in tank and new French oak barrels.
Yalumba Y Series Australia Shiraz 2019 Sustainable (Regular Retail $9.99)

Tasting Notes
Wild berry, anise-infused plum and black cherry flavors are fleshy and juicy, with notes of chocolate-covered espresso bean and fresh rosemary lingering on the finish. Pair with tacos, burritos and nachos.
