Over 20 years ago, our Founding Partner, Tom Stolpman, discovered what they believe to be one of the greatest viticultural sites on earth. Hidden in the hills of California’s Central Coast, on a rare Limestone outcropping & unobstructed from the Pacific Ocean wind. They're committed to preserving this natural environment for the vines through conscious farming, dry farming, & sustainable employment. In the winery, they use native fermentation & minimal manipulation.

Dedicated to sensible farming & winemaking, in belief they can create vibrant, site-specific wines, with a focus unique to Ballard Canyon AVA, California.

Dark cherry, turned soil and toasted walnut aromas show on the nose of this bottling. The palate is laced with aggressively firm tannins and a lively acidity, offering bright flavors of red cherry, raspberry and dust.

Wine Notes
Brilliant, perfumed cherry and strawberry red fruit over late spring brush. The wine effortlessly flows, almost whirling and cascading, spilling into a more penetrating intensity, married with powerful caking tannins that leave a stamp on the palate.

Upon release, the 2022 approaches the ripest, most hedonistic end of the spectrum, where both the 2008 and 2020 Estate Sangiovese vintages reside. However, sparks of flickering energy keep the wine more lifted and classic, a touch more restrained and sophisticated than the fruit bomb we anticipated.
