Michael Klouda Hatterle Lodi Zinfandel 2017
Mr. Hatterle has been farming this vineyard for almost 50 years. The Zinfandel was planted in 1930 on its own roots and has never been grafted. This wine is a true expression of Zinfandel with its roots deep in the soils of Lodi. Unearth a rare and powerful example of Lodi’s finest.
WINE NOTES
Noticeable notes of black cherry and black currant with some raisin and fig. Black pepper, cardamom and a little black licorice. Finishing with clove, tobacco and some dusty tannins. Good acidity and medium-full bodied. This wine will age for the nest 3-5 years, but drinks just fine now since it already has some bottle age.
