Winery Background
Marco Salustri is dedicated to promoting native Italian grape varieties, with a particular focus on Ciliegiolo (is an ancient red grape variety from Italy, primarily grown in Tuscany and Umbria. Its name comes from the Italian word ciliegia, meaning "cherry," which reflects the grape’s bright red color and cherry-like aromas). The vineyards, aged between 8 and 50 years, are situated in Poggi del Sasso, nestled between the renowned regions of Montalcino and Scansano in southern Tuscany. The vines thrive on sandstone soils at elevations ranging from 300 to 400 meters above sea level. Salustri employs organic farming methods, reflecting a commitment to sustainable viticulture.
Wine Notes
Dusty roses and violets give way to bright cherries and hints of leather, This is fleshy in feel, yet with a core of juicy acidity that maintains balance, as ripe red and hints of blue fruit across the palate. The slightest hint of tannin lingers, along with notes of licorice and confectionary spice.
