Llama Belasco De Baquedano Old Vine Estate Malbec 2022

The Belasco family has over 200 years of winemaking experience in Spain, particularly in the Navarra Region.  Their expertise in crafting fine wines let them to seek new opportunities in the New World. 

Expansion to Argentina: In the early 2000s, the family recognized the potential of Mendoza’s high-altitude vineyards, particularly in the Luján de Cuyo region, for producing world-class Malbec.

Founding of Belasco de Baquedano: The winery was officially established in 2003, focusing on old-vine Malbec and traditional winemaking techniques that highlight the terroir of the region.

Terroir-Driven Wines: The winery is located at over 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) above sea level in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, an area known for its ideal conditions for Malbec, including well-draining soils and a continental climate.

Old Vines: The estate boasts 100-year-old Malbec vines, which contribute to the concentration and complexity of their wines.

Notes                                                                                                                                   A modern wine that presents a bright ruby-red color. On the nose, it offers ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries, and plums, which integrate with toasty notes from aging in top-quality oak. On the palate, it is warm, rounded, and well-structured, with medium body, soft tannins, and a well-balanced finish.
