Rustenberg Cabernet Sauvignon Stellenbosch 2019

Rustenberg Cabernet Sauvignon Stellenbosch 2019

  • 2195

The Rustenberg Estate was founded in 1682 and is nestled in the valley of the Simonsberg Mountain in South Africa’s premium wine region. The estate stands on an impressive 880 hectares against the iconic Simonsberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. When standing in the high vineyards of the estate, the entire vista of Stellenbosch is revealed, with a glimpse of Table Mountain in the distance. Rustenberg was awarded National Heritage Site status in December 2004. Currently the property is owned by the Barlow Family (75 years).

The Cabernet Sauvignon is made in a more fruit forward and medium bodied style and is accessible in its youth but will benefit from further bottle age. We recommend decanting this wine before serving. Wine was aged for 15 months in partially used and new French oak.

Wine Notes

Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varietals perform very well under the climate conditions of the region and Rustenberg is known to be one of South Africa’s top producers of Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux blends and varietals. The Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon shows typical Cabernet Sauvignon flavor and aroma profiles of dark berries and tobacco with a well-structured and lengthy palate.
