Château Palmer is one of the most celebrated estates of Margaux, with a history that began in the early 19th century when General Charles Palmer acquired the property and expanded its vineyards. The estate was later developed by the influential Pereire brothers, who established its reputation for producing wines of exceptional elegance and refinement. Classified as a Third Growth (Troisième Cru Classé) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Château Palmer has long been regarded as one of the finest wines of the Médoc, often performing at a level that rivals the greatest First Growths. Today, the château is recognized for its biodynamic vineyard practices and its distinctive style—combining the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the perfume, silkiness, and finesse that define great Margaux.
