Founded in 1996 after establishing Matanzas Creek and Chalk Hill into the market place, David spent six years in Napa Valley as winemaker for Dominus and helped Leslie Rudd with reshape the Girard Winery into Rudd Oakville. He is also involved with Family Winemakers of California.

Wine Notes

• Nose / Aroma: Sea-spray minerality, citrus blossom, apricot, red apple, and panna cotta. 

• Palate: Creamy texture (signature of Ramey), with bright, crisp apple and tangy lime, mineral character (chalk/flint), and lemon zest. 

• Finish: Silky, vibrant, saline-laced, long and taut. 

• Acidity / Structure: Very precise, focused acidity. The wine shows “fantastic bracing acidity” per Decanter. 

• Texture: Medium-bodied; subtle oak influence (12 months in barrels, 10% new oak)
