Mas de Valeriole Charmentin IGP Bouches-du-Rhone Blanc 2024

Mas de Valériole is a historic family-run winery in the heart of the Camargue Regional Natural Park in Provence, France, with roots going back to 1426 when it was founded by Dr. François Valériole. Today the estate is owned and operated by the Michel family, who settled there in the early 1960s and now work the vineyards across multiple generations, combining traditional Provençal agriculture with modern organic practices. The domaine’s roughly 32 hectares of organically farmed vines sit on sandy, clay and limestone soils shaped by the Rhône River delta, and reflect the wild Mediterranean climate — winds, sea influence and saline soils — in wines that focus on freshness and terroir expression. While the estate cultivates a variety of grapes including Vermentino (Rolle), Chardonnay, Merlot and others, its Charmentin IGP Bouches-du-Rhône Blanc is a characteristic dry white that evokes citrus and saline notes of the Camargue.

Notes

Light to medium-bodied, clean and refreshing on the palate, with vibrant citrus and white fruit flavors (pear, lemon and other light fruits), a touch of floral character, and a distinctive saline, almost sea-breeze-like finish that gives the wine a sense of Mediterranean freshness.
