Truchard Estate Carneros Pinot Noir 2022

Truchard Vineyards, a family-owned estate in Napa Valley's Upper Carneros region, was founded in the 1970s by Tony and Jo Ann Truchard. The 480-acre estate grows 80% sustainably and 20% organically. The Truchard family's winemaking heritage dates back to 1887 when Jean Marie Truchard emigrated from France to Southeast Texas, where he and his father established a vineyard. After Prohibition, the family moved away from grape growing, but Tony, inheriting a love for farming, later planted vineyards in Napa's Carneros AVA. The estate grows seven Pinot Noir clones, including two “Martini,” “Pommard,” “Swan,” and several Dijon selections. The vines, ranging from 21 to 43 years old, thrive in Carneros’ cool climate and rolling hills, producing Pinot Noir with complex aromatics and depth.
