This Pinot layers in the complexity and tension, showing accents of raspberry and cherry that are laced with dusky spice and black tea. Drink now through 2028.
90 Points Wine Enthusiast
This is a sharp and detailed young wine, with tight blackberry fruit that etches its way into your palate. Aged for eight months in neutral barrels, this puts a tart and peppery spin on its lightly chewy tannins. Drink now and through the next half decade.
Whole cluster fermentation and aged in 100% French oak barrels this Pinot offers a brilliant red color with notes of raspberry, cherry and a smoky nuance. Extremely fresh, uplifting with juicy tannins. Not only is this wine Salmon-Safe certified, it is also excellent with salmon and herb infused lamb burgers. 13.4% Alc. Content.
Pomona College Alumn Tony Soter, presents an environmentally responsible and Salmon-Safe wine from Oregon at an accessible price. Committed to using only sustainably certified farmed fruits, this wine was bottled in a certified sustainable winery facility, which is also one of just 14 wineries in Oregon (very few in the world) that can document their carbon usage. Tony produces an exceptionally complex Pinot Noir for his Soter Vineyards lineage from the Yamhill-Carlont district of Oregon's Willamette Valley. Planet Oregon was a new creation launched with the people in mind. The goal was to introduce a pure and unpretentious Oregon Pinot which also benefits the environment through sustainable practices.
Tony and Michelle Soter pledge $1 a bottle to benefit the Oregon Environmental Council.
Salmon-Safe is a certification that helps vineyards protect and restore salmon habitat by planting trees on streams, growing cover crops to controll run-off, and apply natural methods of weed and pest control. Vineyards that meet these standards earn the certification and the honor to use the Salmon-Safe label
