Brother and sister team, Trent and Kimberly Jackson collaborated with their vintner “green thumb” father to found their first label in 1996. Over time the two identified their unique niche among next generation wine enthusiasts. Outliers from the dominating short list of old school napa wineries, the two saw an opportunity to buck the “en vogue” winemaking style of their day to focus on the unique terroir of their family vineyard. After all, “change comes first at a small scale driven by the smaller more nimble producers.”

93 Points Wine Enthusiast
Bursting in dark, inky black fruit and jammy blueberry, this wine is concentrated yet bright, with a freshness that contrasts and lifts its more powerful tendencies. Succulent and supple on the palate, it finishes in black pepper, leather and cigar

92 Points James Suckling
Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, dried thyme and baking spices. It’s full-bodied with fine tannins and lively acidity. Creamy, with a flavorful, fresh finish. Drink or hold.

91 Points Wine Advocate
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is composed of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it delivers pronounced blackcurrant jelly, stewed plums and cedar scents with wafts of cloves and black olives. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with lively, crunchy black fruits, framed with approachable, grainy tannins and finishing savory.

Rated 90 Points Jeb Dunnuck
The value-priced (by Napa standards) 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Jax Estate sports a deep purple hue to go with a pretty, perfumed bouquet of pure cassis, ripe cherries, minty herbs, and chocolate. I like its freshness, it's medium to full-bodied, has notable purity, and is just a charming, delicious Cabernet to enjoy over the coming 5-7 years or so.

Wine Notes
Our estate Cabernet Sauvignon is consistently sourced from the family vineyard in northern Calistoga. David Jackson purchased the family vineyard after 15 years of searching for vision of the ideal terroir.

This no nonsense Cabernet Sauvignon coats the palatte with layers of dark cherry, cocoa nib, forest floor and soft hints of cedar. Full bodied and well proportioned, this wine carries great length and focus on the palate. Already elegant and well-structured at its release, this wine will continue to evolve in complexity.
