Clos des Lune “Lune d’Argent” Bordeaux Blanc 2023

The winemaking practices at Clos des Lunes take inspiration from those of Domaine de Chevalier, and benefit from an expertise in creating impressive dry white wines.

This approach, based upon an absolute respect for the terroir and the fruit, is put into practice through an endless pursuit of quality through research and constant refinement.

Located in Sauternes, on one of the greatest white wine terroirs in France , the Clos des Lunes is a magnificent rolling vineyard planted with old sémillon and sauvignon blanc vines. On very old vines, some perfectly golden clusters are chosen and delicately sorted grain by grain, by expert hands. 

Wine Notes 

Aromas: The bouquet opens with intense notes of citrus fruits, such as lemon and grapefruit, followed by hints of white peach and nectarine. There are underlying floral aromas, particularly of white blossoms and acacia, accompanied by subtle mineral notes and a touch of honey.

Flavors: The palate mirrors the nose with vibrant citrus flavors, including lemon zest and lime, complemented by juicy stone fruits like peach and apricot. The Sauvignon Blanc adds a refreshing acidity, while the Sémillon brings a roundness and slight waxy texture. There's also a delicate hint of oak, contributing to the wine's complexity, with a long, mineral-driven finish.

This wine pairs well with seafood, especially oysters, crab, and grilled fish. It also complements goat cheese, light salads, and dishes with citrus-based sauces.
