Edetaria Via Edetana Garnatxa Blanca 2021 93pts. Organic

Edetaria is located in the Terra Alta region of Catalunya, where 1/3 of the Garnacha Blanca is grown here worldwide.  Joan Angel Lliberia, the owner of Edetaria, has set the goal of making Terra Alta's most expressive 'Garnatxas', white, reds, and rosés. All estate grown fruit on guyot and old bush-trained vines. 

This wine is made with Garnacha Blanca 100% from old vines in “tapàs” and “panal” terroirs.  After its fermentation from each plot we use the following techniques... half of the wine is aged in 500 liter French oak for 4 months and the other half of the wine rests on its lees in the tanks to achieve the highest varietal expression.

Medium straw to the eye, this wine has a bouquet of apricot, dried Mediterranean herbs and rose petal. It has a beautiful texture, offering flavors of nectarine, Valencia orange, butterscotch and a touch of lemon thyme riding beside bold acidity.

Notes:

Powerful and lush entry full of well integrated flavors in the mouth. It is creamy with a extremely fresh and mineral finish that grants elegance to the wine.
