Jorn Nou Terra Alta Garnacha Tinta Peluda 2020

Bodegas Jorn Nou, nestled in Catalonia's Terra Alta D. O., produces distinguished wines rooted in a thousand years of Mediterranean tradition. The vineyards benefit from a dry Mediterranean climate with low rainfall and two prevailing winds. Situated between 350 and 550 meters above sea level, the diverse terroir features chalky, limey soils with minimal organic matter, including the unique panal soil. The wines reflect the essence of their historic region and the unique qualities of traditional grape varieties. 

Tinta Peluda is the genetic mutation of Garnacha and also called hairy Grenache. It gets its name from the hairy leaves, this grape variety is resistant to drought, it adapts well to arid soils and is less sensitive to pests, it is a mutation of the Red Grenache and is native from Catalonia. This winery practices organic farming techniques, all 100% hand harvested, sorted, destemmed. Aged in barrel with 30% new oak for 6 months.

WINE NOTES

Dense red wine with purplish hue, bright and fluid in the glass. Aromas of raspberries, blackberries and forest fruits, with notes of liquorice and spices. Pleasantly meaty, fresh and slighly tannic with aromas of red fruit preserves.
