Domaine Gerard & Hubert Thirot Sancerre 2022
The famous vineyards of Sancerre are located in the very heart of France. The total area of the appellation is 2800 hectares. As long ago as the Middle-Age, monks, lords and merchants fought over the vines. The small commune of Bué has always been considered as the best producer of Sancerre wines, thanks to its unique position. The Thirot’s family has been producing wine in Sancerre for more than three centuries. Their 14 hectares estate is located on some of Bué’s very best slopes. Two grape varieties flourish there on the stony and chalky clay soils.
Wine Notes:
This wine has a lovely pale gold, with notes of grapefruit, wet stones and some herbs. Followed by flavors of citrus, pear and peach with notable acidity that makes this a beautiful dry white wine that pairs very well with oily fish like Salmon and Seabass. Also goes with Crottin de Chavignol cheese.
