Turnbull Wine Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Turnbull Wine Cellars is a small, family-owned, multi-generation business with 145 acres of vineyards within the Oakville Viticultural Appellation. The brand and label design pays tribute to their heritage and speaks to the present and future of the small, family-owned winery. The central, powerful figure of a bull represents the belief in the character and place of origin for their exceptional and honest wines, while the original Johnson Turnbull Vineyards watermark seal speaks to the beginnings of the winery in 1979. Originally founded by architect William Turnbull Jr, who designed the winery himself. Turnbull is known for his development of Sea Ranch communities in Sonoma County
It starts with the painstaking process of vinifying lot by lot, tasting and evaluating each for specific attributes and characteristics. Like a complex puzzle, Winemaker Peter Heitz weaves together a narrative of place, tasting through and chalking each barrel, one by one, to determine the final blends. The wines are aged in 100% French Oak barrels and rest in bottle for extended time so that they may be enjoyed as they were intended: upon release and over the long-term.

"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color, offering gregarious notes of baked black plums, licorice, crème de cassis and mocha plus nuances of tar and cardamom. The medium to full-bodied palate is filled with a compelling purity of black fruit flavors and lovely freshness, textured by soft, plush tannins, finishing long with an exhilarating pepper and spice burst." Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate 14.7% alc.
