Talley Estate Arroyo Secco Chardonnay 2017
Talley Vineyards is a family owned and operated winery that specializes in estate grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir ideally suited for the climate and soils of the Arroyo Grande and Edna Valleys. The Talley’s farming history in the area dates to 1948 when Oliver Talley began growing vegetables in the Arroyo Grande Valley. Guided by this legacy and a commitment to long term sustainability, Talley Vineyards focuses on attention to detail in all aspects of farming and winemaking operations. The goal is to produce distinctive wines of consistently high quality that best express the unique character of each of the Talley family’s six vineyard sites in the two valleys.
The Estate Chardonnay is the signature white wine of Talley Vineyards; a pure expression of Arroyo Grande Valley's cool climate and calcareous soil. Made in a classic old world style, incorporating barrel fermentation and aging, it was the first Chardonnay produced in the AVA dating back to their inaugural vintage of 1986.

The 2017 Chardonnay Estate, aged 14 months in 20% new French oak, has open-knit aromas of apple pie, crushed stone, sweet spices, quince paste and hay with notions of honeysuckle and honeyed almonds. The palate is medium-bodied, silky and lively, demonstrating great restraint of fruit and just enough of that savory character. It’s refreshed by bright acidity and finishes long and bright.
