Lucky Rock Company County Cuvee Pinot Noir 2016
LUCKY ROCK WINE CO. is a collaboration between wine industry journeymen Aaron and Jesse Inman. The name pays tribute to their mining roots. Discovering vineyards that lend themselves to delicious blends at a fair price has dominated the Inman brothers' prospecting dreams. And so, three sites from the following counties were blended because they all grow superb Pinot Noir, yet are elevated by a cuvée of the three. Sonoma provides opulent fruit and earth components. Monterey lends bright acidity and high-toned red fruits. San Benito gifts the blend finesse, body and complexity. The result is this fruit-forward, medium-bodied, and well-balanced wine.
Ten months in a mix of French oak and stainless steel, 10% new oak.
The best Pinot Noir were selected from 48% San Benito County, 37% Sonoma County and 15% Monterey County vineyards.
On the nose are cherry and earth notes, dusted with hints of vanilla and pomegranate seeds. The palate explodes with ripe red fruits, and toasty oak — all while maintaining the balance in this wine.14.2% Alc.
