Jeriko Mendocino County Sangiovese 2010 Biodynamic
Biodynamic estate grown Sangiovese is a food friendly wine made by the Fetzer family from Mendocino County in the upper Russian River. Daniel Fetzer, the youngest son of Kathleen and Barney Fetzer's eleven children carries on the family's heritage. Jeriko was a name for an ancient civilization, where plants and animals were first domesticated (known as the City of Agriculture). While visiting the estate, it is common to see sheep, goats and horses roam the land. The riparian areas are flush with wildlife with a presence of red-tailed hawks and ospreys along the Russian River.
Following Biodynmaic winemaking principles, natural fermenation are promoted allowing resident yeasts that are unique to the vineyards and cellar to develop and reflect the terrior of the estate.
