Galuval "Les Collines" Rasteau Cotes Du Rhone 2018
Les Collines is one of the main terroirs of Rasteau. They are located west of the village towards Cairanne. This terroir is made up of stony colluvium from the Quaternary, with a more or less abundant marly matrix. When the marls are present, they deliver very qualitative harvests, a guarantee of fruity, very balanced wines, whose tannic finesse is associated with clays, which are often abundant. All the red grape varieties express themselves in a remarkable way.
The particularity of our plots on this terroir is due to the proximity of the Gayère stream which meanders between our plots. La Gayère will help to feed the vines well and bring prosperity, in particular to Mourvèdre, which is renowned for flourishing with its feet in the water and its head in the sun.
NOTES
The Le Collines Cru des Côtes du Rhône Rasteau Rouge was made from Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache and matured in oak barrels. The wine shows a very nice nose with aromas of blackberries, plums, raspberries, some cassis, liquorice, pencil, cocoa, pepper, cloves, some leather, rosemary, lavender and violets. Fleshy, juicy, velvety, delicately spicy on the palate, very nice fruit, complex, muscular elegance and a very long finish.
