Domaine Costa Lazaridi Amethystos Cava Red Drama PGI 2016
Domaine Costa Lazaridis was established in 1979 by Costa Lazaridis. He built one of the first modern winery in this region and has always believed in producing high quality wines to compete in the world stage. Drama in ancient times was part of a wider region called the Land of Idones. According to archaeological research it was an important centre of Dionysian worship. There is also evidence of vine presence dating back to the 4th millennium BC. So it is not hard to surmise the importance of vine cultivation in the region.
The Estate, apart from the vineyards, includes a 15,000 square meter building with a winery, a distillery, underground ageing cellars and areas for the reception of visitors.
This 100% Cabernet Franc comes from old vines in Drama that were planted in rocky clay soils. Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrel before release.
