Chateau Poujeaux Moulis-en-Medoc Bordeaux Red 2010
Château Poujeaux became sought after by connoisseurs: Former French President George Pompidou swore by it and served it at the Elysée palace! The estate began production of wine in the 19th century. In the first half of the 20th century, the property was prosperous and was passed down and divided up until the Theil family took more interest and purchased the property. Jean Theil was able bring the different parts of the estate back together again and build its reputation. Jean’s descendants inherited his devotion to the estate and perpetuate the spirit of Poujeaux. The vineyard lies in one single plot to the north-east of Moulis, on the gravel mounds of Grand-Poujeaux. Now the estate is owned by the Philippe Cuvelier and this estate is Classified as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.
"Supple and velvety tannins. Full, round and juicy fruit." by Christina Coulourides

Much like 2009, the wines of 2010 have great concentration, weight and high alcohol and acidity. Deep ruby color and offers up aromas of cedar, blackcurrant and plums. On the palate it is delicate yet intense, with a wonderful depth to its flavors which unfold layer by layer on the very long finish. Pair with Shanghai red-cooked chicken or tea smoked duck 14.5 % ABV
