Chateau Malmaison "Baronne Nadine de Rothschild" Moulis Bordeaux Red 1993
You have just been invited to the Baronne's porch to taste one of her favorite and rare 1993 Bordeaux, while looking over her rose garden and the vineyard of Château Malmaison. The Rothschild family, closely identified with wine, currently has a woman owner and director for this Château. Her husband, Baron Edmond de Rothschild purchased this property in 1973 to combine with their other adjoining property Château Clarke. The two Châteaux are right next to each other but are divided by the appellation lines of Moulis and Listrac.
Aging in newer barrels allowed the wine to have elegance, finesse and softness. This is a rare vintage wine that is worthy of the Baronne de Nadine de Rothschild.
This wine has a beautiful and unique pale red-brick color. The bouquet has notes of ripe red fruits, flowers, oak, and spices. The flavors of ripe cherries, plums, strawberries, earth, and vanilla is abundant and will open up after some decanting. The tannins are medium with a good acidity. This wine will open up, leading you to discover more complex characteristics. A great companion to roast beef, ratatouille, aged cheddar, olives, and salami platter. Ready to drink. 12.5% Alc.
