Chateau Haut Peyrat Bordeaux Superieur Red 2018
Plume Ridge direct import from Bordeaux. Chateau Haut Peyrat is located in Cambes, a village bordering the Garonne on the right bank and 20 minutes from Bordeaux city center. Husband and wife Didier and Isabelle Gil acquired the property in 2014 and has taken extreme measures to restore this 16th century property.
The King of France Henry IV stayed in the castle before going to his royal residence of Cazeneuve. In 1655, the castle also belonged to many noble families including the president of the Parliment of Bordeaux. Female winemaker Manon Dhabit has been producing high quality wines utilizing the vineyard's terrior and her expertise. They have adapted to sustainable growing practices, plot vinification, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeast. Chateau Haut Peyrat hosts its own ecosystem on their 40 hectares. There are bee hives, sheeps, cows and polyculture with walnuts, hazelnuts and poplar trees.
Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months
70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon
Intense ruby color with beautiful aromas of red and black fruits, licorice and black pepper. On the palate there are notes of cherry, blackberry, black currant and silky tannins with freshness on the finish. 14.5% Alc. Content.
