Chateau d'Aiguilhe Cotes de Castillon 2014

Chateau d'Aiguilhe Cotes de Castillon 2014

  • 2099

Stephan von Neipperg of Château Canon la Gaffelière was an early proponent of Castillon vineyard potential and chose this property which is on the same ridge as Saint-Emilion. Acquired by Stephan von Neipperg in late 1998, Château d'Aiguilhe is one of the finest and most beautiful vineyards in the Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Fruity and ripe, this is a generous wine. Finely structured tannins back up the black-currant fruits and give the wine a texture that bodes well for the future.

80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc

91 points Wine Enthusiast (Cellar Selection)

93 points James Suckling

90-92 points Wine Advocate

Wine Notes

"This has an ample core of lively plum, blackberry and anise notes that is silky in feel, but has heft and persistence. The finish pulls in a singed apple wood note, but the purity of fruit wins out easily overall. Drink now through 2024". Wine Spectator. 14% Alc. Content. Pair with venison, lamb, rabbit stew and strong cheeses.
