Cape Margaret Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Margaret River region is located on the Southwestern corner of Australia. It is a long narrow growing region that hugs the Indian Ocean. Margaret River region is one of the worlds most geographically isolated wine regions in the world. This growing region has a unique combination of ancient soil, heavy rainfall, a cool sea breeze with a long dry ripening season. This combination gives Cabernet Sauvignon fruit vibrancy, medium bodied, very perfumed and elegant in style with fine tannins with a balance of acidity.
Voted five stars in the 'Best in the West' category in Winestate Magazine, this Margaret River wine offers a concentrated fruit profile of mulberry, blackcurrant and dark cherries. The masterful use of French oak lays the foundation for earthy wild field mushroom and black olive complexities. Judges noted:
"The nose is a complexity of cassis and herbs with some rustic characters. It is beautifully velvety smooth in the mouth with an inky fruit flavor profile and a high level of acid."
This wine was aged in French Oak creating layers of flavor and complexity. This wine is well balanced between tannin and fruit combination. The wine showcases flavors of mulberry, blackcurrant and dark cherries. Every sip has earthy notes of wild mushrooms, black olives, and tobacco leafs. This wine is well balanced and will leave you wanting more. A nice food pairing would be grilled pork with a cheery glaze or grilled vegetables.
