Camp Sonoma County Merlot 2016
Quality wines made from sustainable vineyard sites and produced with out additives. Camp Wines were created by Kenny Likitprakong of Hobo Wine Co. in 2011 to showcase the quality and value of Sonoma County wine. Like Hobo, the Camp wines employ native yeasts and malolactic bacterias for the primary and secondary fermentation without the use of commercial fermentation aids or additives. The wines are aged in real oak barrels and/or stainless steel tanks vs. alternatives or flavoring agents. The 2016 Camp Merlot is 100% Merlot, 75% from Mojon’s Bench, an organically farmed vineyard in Alexander Valley close to the town of Geyserville and 25% from Morrison Vineyard, also organically farmed and in Sonoma Valley close to Kenwood. Each lot was fermented separately and the blend was made in January of 2016. Aged 11 months in neutral French barrels of various ages. Only 598 cases made.
Well structured and easy drinking Merlot with ripe red fruit and good tannins and acidity. 13% Alc. by Vol.
