Bonny Doon Le Cigare Blanc Arroyo Seco Grenache Blanc 2011 Biodynamic
Unique Single Vineyard White Rhône Blend from the Original Rhône Ranger. Named "The Rhône Ranger" by Wine Spectator magazine in 1989, Randall Grahm produced his first vintage of Le Ciagre Volant in 1984. This special white wine follows the same quality as Grahm's other Châteauneuf-du-Pape inspired wines. Bonny Doon has been at the forefront of biodynamic farming, and this particular blend is sourced from the Beeswax Vineyard in the Arroyo Seco region of Monterey County. Beeswax Vineyard grows complex, concentrated and mineral intensive grapes from deeply rooted vines.
Grenache Blanc 62%, Roussanne 38%
A cooler growing season in 2011 produced an intensely flavored wine at a modest degree of alcohol. The Grenache Blanc dominates the aromatic profile of melon and floral notes. The palate offers a strong impression of grapefruit, melon, and Asian pear. The acidity is refreshing and pairs with good minerality and body. The unique flavors will pair exceptionally well with fresh lobster or minimalistic tuna sashimi with a dab of wasabi. (Sorry no Crazy Spicy Tuna Rolls here). 12.5% Alc. Content. 1,650 cases produced.
