Wine Notes
Floral aromas of quince, pineapple, and honeysuckle with hints of
nutmeg, fig, and toasted oak. The mouth is clean and bright - filled with flavors of green apple, fresh pear, and lemon zest. Firm acidity provides a crisp finish of citrus, mineral, and spice.. 14.1% Alc.

100% Grown, produced and bottled by the Truchard family in Upper Carneros region of the Napa Valley. Truchard Vineyards was started by Tony and Jo Ann Truchard (native Texans) in the 70s, the estate has grown to 480 acres (80% Sustainably Grown, 20% Organically Grown). The Truchard family's wine tradition can be traced to 1887 when Jean Marie Truchard and father Anthony Marie Truchard emigrated from a small town outside of Lyon, France to the United States. Together they established a vineyard and winery on 500 acres in Southeast Texas. Like many, after prohibition decided to seek alternatives to grapes.

The family legacy of farming and viticulture ran deep as Jean Marie's grandson Tony eventually inherited his love of farming and pioneering spirit. After medical school and service in the army, Tony and his family arrived in Napa Valley and planted vineyards in now the Carneros Appellation.

Chardonnay is located throughout the southern part of the Truchard Estate
Vineyard. The vines range from 23 - 45 years old and benefit from the various marine soils, gently sloped terrain, and cooler temperatures - conditions that make the Carneros region ideal for growing Chardonnay. They produce aromatic wines with tropical fruit characteristics and a unique spicy element.

All of the fruit was whole cluster pressed to produce a full-bodied wine with delicate structure. 100% Fermented in French oak barrels (33% new) and the wine remains on the lees (sur lie) for 10 months. A partial malolactic fermentation (30% complete) allows the wine to retain it's natural acidity, while regularly stirring of the lees (battonage) gives added complexity and richness.
