Toques & Clochers Saint Joseph Limoux Chardonnay 2018
Toques et Clochers is an annual two day charity event that ties in gastronomy and celebration of Chardonnay. Named after the Toque "tall chef hats" and Clocher "bell tower", the festival takes place the weekend of Palm Sunday in the Limoux and Saint-Hilaire region. The money that is raised from the event is used to restore the church in the village that is chosen to host the event that year. Great chefs have presided over the event including Michelin chefs such as Joel Robuchon, Alain Ducasse, and more.
Our Chardonnay comes from the village of "Saint Joseph" that was auctioned in 2019 after the oenologists tough selection process and selection of the barrels. Only about 100 barrels are auctioned each year and we are honored to have received the fruits of their labor. Each bottle is individually numbered and wrapped.

Aromas of green apple, citrus and white peach with a hint of toast. This medium bodied Chardonnay is smooth with well rounded fruit and light honeyed characters. Very well made and lingers on the palate. This delicate balance and finesse makes this wine the perfect pairing with scallops, creamy dishes and fresh cheese. Aged in oak for 9 months.
