Ernest Eugenia Central Coast "The Country Wife" Cinsault Rosé 2018

Ernest Vineyards is named after Todd Gottula's grandfather. Together with his wife Erin Brooks, the couple runs their winery with a very hands on approach.  Their philosophy is much about the climate and terrior.  Crafting wines with good acidity, low alcohol and minimal influence of oak to create the perfect balance.

In the sub-appellation of San Lucas, located 12 miles south of King City, lies San Lucas Vineyard. The climate is similar to the Rhone region of France. Blustery afternoon winds, known as the mistral in France are ever present in the Salinas Valley and San Lucas. This wine is made by Ernest Vineyards, and named after the owner's maternal grandmother. Eugenia would often serve cowboys an early campfire breakfast and transition to tea in the afternoon. Her remarkable contributions to the family and community inspired this wine, The Country Wife, a wine both humble and sophisticated.

Wine Notes

Aged in 10% neutral French oak, only 320 cases produced. The aromas are fresh and clean with hints of blood orange and tangerine plus an underlying minerality typical of the rosés from Provence. The acidity is persistent and a beautiful compliment to an array of foods; but being wonderfully low in alcohol, it is delicious on its own. 11.3% alc. Pair with seafood soup, fruit salad, egg tart and grilled seafood.
