Organically grown. Another estate owned by the Moulin and Cathiard families, Château Pavillon Beauregard has benefited from the renovations at Château Beauregard. It has been vinified in the same vat cellar in Pomerol since 2015. Beauregard's history dates back to the 11th century and the Order of the Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. The knights were active in the Pomerol region, it was on these farmed lands and 5 centuries later the Beauregard family built the first house. The original house has been replaced during the Napoleonic era by a chateau, created by a pupil of Victor Louis, the architect of Bordeaux's Grand Theater.

The estate, located at Néac, a commune adjacent to Pomerol, carries the Lalande de Pomerol appellation and covers 12 hectares (29.6 acres) on a clay-gravel plateau containing a hardpan subsoil. The 2015 vintage was hand harvested between Sept 22 and Oct 1 of 2015. Aged for 14 months in 20% new French oak.

75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc

92-93 points James Suckling

Wine Notes

"A juicy and savory red with loads of blackberry and dark chocolate character. Excellent quality."- James Suckling

This wine displays an attractive, deep, light-purple hue. The nose first reveals a wide range of intense aromastics with crisp, well-ripen fruits, such as morello cherry and black berry. Chocolaty, spicy and toasted notes. On the palate, this wine immediately shows quality of its well-ripened silky and lingering tannins. Thanks to its balance and soft tannins, it may be enjoyed young; however it will undoubtedly improve with bottle age. To be enjoyed between 2018 and 2025.
